Fiore Performance Parts

Description

I started FIORE Performance Parts in July of 2003. It started as a webstore offering aftermarket parts to Mustang enthusiasts. Selling other company's parts was difficult since there are so many on-line and "brick-n-mortar" stores offering low prices. The following year I began to realize that the only way to stand-out from the crowd was to develop my own line of performance parts.

One day that summer I met a machinist, who is "a friend of a friend", while he and his family were camping by a local lake. We got to talking about the aftermarket industry and parts I thought could be improved. I mentioned that I was having problems with my firewall adjuster always loosening. He took a look at it and said there may be a way to utilize a detent ball to lock the adjuster screw in place.

Over the next week or so I spent some time researching this idea. I found a drawing of a spring-loaded detent ball assembly on an engineering website and sent it to him. We decided that we could incorporate this into an adjuster. I used the simple drawing software on my computer and came up with a rough idea of what the adjuster screw would look like. After the machinist took a look at it he decided that it would be too costly to machine and that four simple grooves machined into the threads would suffice.
