A bit about us ~ My Grandmother in Loftus, England used to say that if my Mother had allowed me to have a dog when I was young, I wouldn’t have so many now! I love dogs! Really I love all animals! As a child Granny took me to a fair in Yorkshire and I petted a pig while saying "nice doggie"
I used to show Afghan and Basenji when I lived in Virginia and Maine. (My Mother will not admit that they are her Grandchildren!) I still have two basenji and am down to my last afghan, Maggie. Maggie is 14 years old now and has cancer ~ I lost her sister Reba last year also to cancer. You would never know that Maggie is sick ~ she grumbles at the others once in a while but is doing very well. Kristie and her son BC are my Basenji ~ Basenji are the only barkless dogs in the world, coming from Africa. They do make a sound that is a bit like a rooster, but mine don't do it very often (check out the link to the Basenji Club of America to hear a basenji) ~ Kristie is my only finished champion Ch. LaRogues Going For The Gold. BC is my boy ~ he's the only boy! Need I say more?!
The tribe also includes Bailee ~ her father was a Chocolate Lab and her mother was a German Short Haired Pointer ~ she looks just like a Lab but with a few freckles on her face. Bailee was born in Colorado and has been with us since she was a puppy. ~ She’s a big baby! She thinks she’s a lap dog so we have to remind her that she is only part lap ~ so she only gets part way in your lap!
