Description
Dan's fire service career began in 1969 as a volunteer in Wisconsin. He spent 3 years in the U.S. Army, 2½ on the Fire Department. He has 30 years with the Nikiski, AK Fire Department, rising through the ranks to his current position of Chief. Prior to becoming Chairman, Dan served as Western Director and Vice Chairman. Dan also trains Industrial Fire Brigades in Alaska and Russia.
Sandy has 25 years with the Shreveport, LA Fire Department, rising through the ranks to his current position of Chief Safety Officer. As Chief Safety Officer, he is responsible for the Occupational Health and Safety Program for the 600 members of the department. Sandy served as Western Director for 3 years prior to becoming Vice Chairman
Mary began her career in 1975 developing the first membership program for ISFSI. During her tenure with ISFSI, she was Membership Coordinator, Seminar Coordinator, Director of Internal Affairs, and Director of External Affairs. She also ran the FDIC Exhibits from 1979 to 1989. Mary became the Executive Director of FDSOA when it was established and incorporated, by ISFSI, in 1989. In 1996 she was responsible for moving FDSOA out from under the ISFSI umbrella to operating as the independent association established.
