Wendy Jones, nationally known motivational speaker, author, and mother of four, has now launched an innovative company, The Fancy Babies Collection.
During my childhood, my mother always found unique and interesting fabric to create clothing or tapestries for home projects. This early exposure to sewing and textures evolved my natural instinct for design and an appreciation for what fulfills the needs of the user. I felt strongly the need was to create a blanket that combined the features of comfort, security, and exquisite fabric. A blanket that a baby would feel nurtured while wrapped; that would also complement the parent's fashionable apparel.
I found that most baby items in the marketplace offer the typical "baby color palette" of blue, pink, yellow, and mint green. I felt forced as a consumer into a set pastel color scheme for nursery décor, blankets, and baby clothing. I wanted to show off my children wrapped in blankets that were interesting, vibrant, and elegant. My search for these blankets turned into the search for the fabric to make them myself. After many conversations with other parents they too wanted these types of fabric choices for their children. I would not limit my blankets to my own children. Along with my blanket designs was a business plan for a new and exciting company….The Fancy Babies Collection… and a factory to meet the demand!
