- The Family Cupboard Restaurant was founded in June 1997, by John & Rosalyn Dienner, in the town of Lititz, Pennsylvania. We were both raised on Lancaster County dairy farms where we experienced the best of both worlds: Hard work, close family relationships, abundant rewards from the garden, and being involved with the rest of the farming community. Neighbors would work together in "frolics" whenever and wherever help was needed. Part of the frolic was a large "covered dish" noon meal where lots of recipes were shared and experienced. We want to share with you some of that "covered dish" atmosphere when you dine with us on our buffet at The Family Cupboard.
