Founded in January 2000, Fallen Muse WebWorks is the brainchild of Kim Baron. Kim, a dotcom refugee, has worked in Web site development since early 1997 when she took a job with a commercial Web site called the Game Grotto. Following the Game Grotto, Kim went to work for another commercial Web site called sixdegrees. Based in New York City's Silicon Alley, working at sixdegrees allowed Kim to greatly expand her knowledge of Web design and development, as well as helping her to develop strong insights on how the Web community works.

After a short period on the Web staff of the American Museum of Natural History, Kim decided to strike out on her own. Fallen Muse WebWorks is now recognized as a preeminent design company, specializing in small business Web sites with a focus on handmade beauty businesses.
