- In 1992 my son, Matt, and I decided it was time for a four legged addition to our family. We went in to serious research mode, going to the library, and reading as much information possible about all of the wonderful breeds. We decided upon the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Matt was smitten with the Blue Merle color, so our search went in that direction. Matt also wanted to try his hand at showing, so not only were we looking for a new addition to our family, but a show dog as well.
