- Tidewater native, graduated from Currituck County High School in 1979, with two years of auto mechanics. One year advanced auto mechanics at Tidewater Community College. Started at Phillips Mercedes-Benz in September 1979 as a Mercedes Technician apprentice. Began Mercedes factory training in December 1980, and continued until 1992, accumulating 44 training credits. Started European Autowerks in 1992. Has worked exclusively on Mercedes-Benz since 1979. ASE Certified Master Technician since 1986. Virginia State Inspector.
