- My name is Befekir Kebede. I'm a multimedia graduate specializing in web-design, documentary film-making and photography. I left my native Ethiopia in 1997 for Australia to reside in Melbourne. For me, one of the many advantages of living in Australia has been to learn about what people know and don't know about Ethiopia . According to my experience, people are used to hearing problems about Ethiopia . And that is because of the way Ethiopia is portrayed in the western media. Many are led to believe that Ethiopia is nothing more than a deserted land somewhere in Africa where people starve and die. This indeed is the image many have of Ethiopia and what this website is intended to contest against.
