Inside our shop, you’ll find children’s clothes like you’ve never seen before: unique, modern designs that are brought to life with incredible detail, unusual colors and sumptuous fabrics. Most of our lines are lesser-known European labels created by individuals, not corporations.
The result of our unique approach is an intimate shop filled with gorgeous items that were selected for their beauty and character rather than for their brand. Estella is not a big department store crammed with commercial labels or a trendy shop filled with all the same brands du jour you’ll find everywhere. Estella believes in the beauty of great pieces and the joy of mixing and matching. We avoid trends because we don’t believe in following. Children should be trail-blazers and we hope that Estella will inspire them to burn it up.
Estella is the product of a husband and wife team, Chike Chukwulozie and Jean Polsky. Chike (an Ivy League trained former corporate attorney) and Jean (a Harvard MBA and former Bergdorf Goodman buyer) decided to open the store when they discovered a void in the children’s clothing market. They wanted to create something fresh and distinctive, and thus Estella opened its doors in September, 2002.
