Additional Information

This website originally appeared at wco.com (a Sonoma County, CA hosting service bought out by Verio) as a subdomain owned by an online semi-anarchistic-Erisian by the name of ErisX. The owner was subsequently gifted with a real domain name (erisx.com) held from 1997 through late 2003 or early 2004. Due to complications with the online registrar Network Solutions the owner lost the original domain and purchased a variation, eris-x.com

Always known for its near-random eclectic mix of personal rants, interesting ideas, journal-esque ramblings and one or two more 'normal' pages, it has at times exhibited a distinctly Discordian attitude, which was established with the assistance of the owner's friend, associate, and "partner in crime" JD Wayside. At one time the Discordian content was the main attraction, but times change. Discordianism, if present at all, is fading; all that remains of JD is a page of links where JD (also known as Jon Stephens) might have been found, may be found today, or might be found some time later (to be determined by His Popishness). [1]. The current tone and texture of eris-x.com is occult counterculture.

The graphics change regularly; organization of the information has changed several times as well. Currently the site consists of four or five main sections:

  • Visions [2] (the owner/artist's available online works)
  • Skull Sessions (the owner/writer's available online poetry and prose, currently a sublist from Visions, see above)

The site began as a personal page and doesn't seem to have strayed from that category, despite being online in a cohesive form for nearly 12 years. It seems like a playground for the owner's graphic compulsions (and other compulsions as well, perhaps). The content has always been and remains counter culture; the owner has been known to occasionally carry items that 'flag' U.S. Gov't censors (perhaps deliberately so; Discordianism more or less requires some nose-thumbing on the part of its adherents).

The owner has other pages on the web, most notably a MySpace account and a Live Journal account.
