At the age of 4 I fell off a kitchen barstool and it slammed down and cracked my head open, right between my eyebrows, my third eye as it's called. After that experience I was changed. I went around telling people I had ESP and that I could speak to spirits. No one believed me, of course, but that didn't matter to me. As I got older my spiritual and paranormal abilities continued to grow and manifest. People in my life who passed away came to me in dreams and told me things about life, death, and everything in between. My dreams were often filled with premonitions, and I spoke to other beings often.
When I was 15 I had my first out of body experience. I learned how to astral project at will, and I was already an accomplished lucid dreamer. There were precious few people in my life who could tell me what was happening to me. I encountered a lot of negative energy, both in the spiritual world and the earthly one. Frankly, I was a little afraid. I went through some major events at this time that did damage to my psychic health. I knew for my own sake I needed to withdraw a little and find my way back to the 3rd dimension.
As I headed into adulthood I tried to ignore my paranormal abilities. I didn't want to be different. I wanted to be normal. I felt very uncertain about where I might go if I allowed my connection with the spirits to more fully engage me. I still had "the dreams" and I still spoke to relatives who had passed on, but I didn't share it openly with people in my life; I kept most of it to myself.
