Brett Erickson began professional auto racing in June of 1998. Brett competed in the National Auto Sport Association (N.A.S.A.) racing organization, driving in the Neuspeed sponsored GTI Cup Series. After working with professional driving coach Robert Orcutt, his karting and club racing skills improved dramatically. Brett’s efforts in NASA earned him a track record at Buttonwillow Raceway, in Buttonwillow, CA, and a second place finish in the 1998 GTI Cup championship as a rookie. During Brett’s second season in GTI Cup, he set a new track record at Thunderhill Raceway, in Willows, CA, and a N.A.S.A. record by winning nine GTI Cup races in a season, including a string of four in a row!
