- Eric A. Kimmel is an award winning author of childrens books. He won the Caldecott Honor for Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins. Eric still holds the rank of Professor Emeritus of Education at Portland State where he taught from 1978 to 1993. Eric has written over 60 childrens books. Most of his work centers around different cultures and their folktales. Some of the cultures he has written about include: Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Middle East, China, Israel, Italy, Germany, Japan, British Isles, Mexico, and the USA.
