Description
Tom and Neva have shown continued concern for safety in horse trailering ever since they entered the retail horse trailer business in 1983. In 1988, Tom and Neva began designing horse trailers for safety and toughness and have designed trailers for manufacturers such as Merhow, Trail-et, McQuerry, and their own lines: EquiSport, ThoroSport, and EquiSpirit. In 1996, Mike Plumb's horse journal chose their trailer as the number one choice in safety and construction.
Neva, along with Tom who researched and developed the projects, has authored three books on horse trailers: Hawkins Guide: Horse Trailering On The Road, Equine Emergencies On The Road with Jim Hamilton DVM, and Neva's latest book, The Complete Guide To Buying, Maintaining, and Servicing a Horse Trailer, which is published by Howell Publishing and is the only complete text book on horse trailers.
In addition, they regularly contribute articles to numerous horse magazines, including HorsePlay, Horse Illustrated, Horse Journal and The Horse. In the 2004 September and October issues of Practical Horseman, Horse & Rider, Equus, Dressage Today and Polo Player's Edition you will find the most recent articles and interviews.
