About Ennis Players
Ennis Players are an amateur theatre group, based in Co. Clare on the west coast of Ireland. The current Group has been in existence since the 1970s and started competing on the Irish Drama Festival circuit in the mid-1980s. They have enjoyed considerable success with their productions at local, national and international level.
Over the years a wide range of theatrical productions have been staged and each November the Group present three 1-Act Plays at 'Supper Theatre' in the Old Ground Hotel and in Spring stage their annual 3-Act play in Glór.
Annual qualification for the All-Ireland 1-Act finals has been the norm in recent years with such plays as; Winners by Brian Friel (1999), The Valiant by Hall & Middlemass (2000), Lone Star by James McLure (2001), The Donoghue Sisters by Geraldine Aron (2002) and The Dandy Dolls by George Fitzmaurice (2004). In 2003 the Group had the honor of hosting the All-Ireland 1-Act drama finals which was a fantastic success.
