Emersons Green Community Church
Description
Emersons Green is in South Gloucestershire, England on the edge of the City and County of Bristol and the Cotswolds. In the past, the area was used for faming, coal mining and quarrying.
When houses began to be built, the Churches of Downend and Mangotsfield appointed a Methodist Deacon, Andy Packer to set up a Christian fellowship. Sunday morning meetings were held at Andy's house in Emersons Green and Tony Marron, from Chipping Sodbury Baptist, held evening meetings on the estate.
When Andy moved on from Emersons Green, Kevin Donaghy, a Baptist Minister, was appointed to continue the work and establish a Church. Emersons Green Community Church was constituted in November 2002.
