The main company called K-9 Groom-N,Inc. has been serving the area since 1990. ESS is a division of K-9 Groom-N,Inc. which is ran by Paul W. Abernathy, Certified VA Master Electrician and Class B Electrical Contractor. Mr. Abernathy is a graduate of Charlottesville/Albemarle Technical Education Center in 1988 and was voted as the # 1 student in the schools history by the faculty and his peers and the highest grade average of 105% (4.0+ GPA) over 2 years of training. Since 1988 Mr. Abernathy has been licensed as an electrician and was Virginia's youngest licensed electrician at the time, to date he over 18 years experience in Residential and Light Commercial Electrical Construction, the company name is ESS-Electrical Service Specialists and is the electrical branch of the larger K-9 Groom-N,Inc., corporation located in Harrisonburg,VA.

Mr. Abernathy is a seasoned NEC Code Consultant and has been an electrical instructor on and off since moving to Harrisonburg,VA in 1990. He is also nationally known as a residential home inspector and has successfully passed the National Home Inspectors Exam, conducted specific inspection training by the famed ITA Academy and many other schools and is accredited by the nation's largest home inspection organization known as the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors. Mr. Abernathy is also a National Electrical Educator for NACHI, The National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, He travels around the US giving electrical training, seminars and guest speaking on many electrical topics from electrical theory to national electrical code and defects.
