Description
Lori Peters grew up surrounded by the rolling hills of southwest Wisconsin. Much of her time in those days was spent absorbing the information found in the encyclopedia. It was in those pages she first saw the exquisite and mysterious beauty that is pysanky.
Fast forward twenty years to the late '90's. Rather than create a New Year's resolution that involved denying herself something she enjoyed (a sure path to defeat), she vowed to learn something she'd always wanted to learn. Since then, through patience, frustration, and much trial and error, her artwork has flourished.
This is not an art form that can be rushed. It's the serenity needed for technique that glows in the finished product. To sit in quiet meditation with intent as my focus has become something that I not only want to do, but ultimately need to do. It fulfills me personally and touches emotionally those who receive it - a true win/win situation.
