About us
Effnet was founded in Luleå, Sweden, in 1997 by scientists of the Luleå University of Technology with a goal to develop and commercialize new technologies for improving the performance of IP based networks.
It began with the development of the Luleå algorithm, a method of compressing the routing tables for fast address look-up. The Effnet FTC 500 FR, a combined router and firewall based on the Luleå algorithm was introduced into the market.
Through continued research and development efforts, Effnet has gained a unique expertise in IP header compression and its team has actively contributed to the standardization process. During the year 2001, the Effnet Header Compression product family based on new advanced algorithms was introduced. Effnet's header compression products are aimed at saving bandwidth and improving quality of service in the IP-based networks.
