Title

Economic Thinking: Tools for Economic Education

Description

Economic Thinking is a program of E Pluribus Unum Films, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the highest use of all media in economics education. Economic Thinking holds workshops, develops market-oriented research materials, and markets books and videos that teach economics to high school, homeschool, and college students. Our goal is to demonstrate the central role of economic freedom, property rights, and the rule of law in enabling progress and prosperity in America and around the world. Through workshops, web sites, books, and videos, Economic Thinking brings the market-oriented ideas of leading scholars directly to interested students, teachers, and parents.

Economic Thinking organizes workshops and guest talks for high school and homeschool speech and debate students. Over 100,000 highly motivated high-school students participate in speech and debate each year. In speech and debate competition high school students find the intellectual stimulation and atmosphere of independent inquiry that is often lacking in the their classes. Speech competition improves high school and homeschool student’s research, speaking, and organizational skills.

Before becoming part of Economic Thinking and E Pluribus Unum Films, these outreach programs and their director, Gregory Rehmke, were with the Foundation for Economic Education and before that with, the Institute for Humane Studies, and the Reason Foundation.
