The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF, the Centre) is an international organisation supported by 26 European States, based in Reading, west of London, in the United Kingdom.
We provide state-of-the-art weather forecast data and products to our Member States,as well as managing a supercomputer facility which provides resources for weather forecasting research and computer modelling of the global atmosphere and ocean.
We are organised into three departments: Research, Operations and Administration. We employ approximately 160 full time staff together with a varying number of visting scientists and consultants.
