Description
Echo Park Learning Center & Camp, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a non-profit pre-school serving children aged 1 years 9 months through Kindergarten. We have been a part of the metropolitan Detroit educational community for over 40 years. At Echo Park, we focus on the total development of the child (physical, emotional, social and intellectual) throughout our program. The curriculum at Echo Park provides a variety of experiences for each child to participate in and progress at his or her own individual developmental level. We recognize that each child is unique and has individual growth patterns, and we have designed a flexible program within a certain structure to accomodate that. At Echo Park children are encouraged to explore, to manipulate and to experiment. A curious child is one beginning to take responsibility for his or her own learning.
Children in all classrooms are exposed to our specialty classes which include Music, Creative Dramatics and Physical Education. Beginning with the 2003/4 school year, afternoon enrichment classes will be offered to all children attending full days. Enrichment classes include Spanish, Art, Literature, Science, Travel Club and Computers.
In 2002, we moved to our new facility located on West Twelve Mile Road. The building was designed specifically to meet the needs of our teachers and students. Our building features 12 state-of-the-art classrooms, a music room, drama room, library, computer lab, science room, and a lunch room. Our spacious gymnasium is great for indoor exercise, and also has a stage which is home to our school and camp musical and dramatic productions each year. We have several separate outdoor play centers with varying levels of age-appropriate equipment.
