Description
What is EATA?
The European Association for the Treatment of Addiction (EATA) is a charity working to help ensure people with substance dependencies get the treatment they need. We work with providers, referrers, commissioners and policy makers to improve access and quality in the rehabilitative treatment of substance dependency.
We are a membership organisation with over 120 members, most of which are voluntary and independent treatment providers. Between them, our UK members provide over 50% of community-based residential treatment and much of the country's structured day care treatment, as well as almost all of the UK's prison-based programmes and a significant proportion of lower threshold services.
Our members include:
Treatment centres and individual practitioners as well as supporters from outside the treatment field. Our treatment providers include both residential and day care treatment services, using a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and 12-step facilitation.
