Description
East West was founded in 1997 by the Head Instructor, Ryan Fiorenzi. Ryan is a black belt under Rigan and Roger Machado and is the first and only black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the state of Michigan. He is the author of "The Beginner Grappler's Handbook: Training Principles and Strategies for Success." He has a black belt in Kung Fu and has trained in many different martial arts including Judo, Boxing, Sambo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and a number of traditional martial arts. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Asian Studies, he draws upon his extensive background in Eastern philosophy to help students get more out of practice and more out of life.
