This Article's Purpose
- This article is intended to be a Suggestion Area for people to reccomend better ways to communicate AboutUs's purpose and make it easier to use. Where we can maintain a community generated list of ideas that could be added to the site. As it grows we may want to recatagorize.
Alternative Front Page Versions
Home Page
- This page seems just a bit "wiki-insular" to me. If you don't know wiki's or the wiki way, it is not so inviting and does not stress the actual value of the site.
- Primary reason for this opinion is that it is focused on 'highlighting' sites, where my perception is that the primary use of the site is to find info on other sites you already know or your own site.
- Solution: the home page CAN have a magazine / browse element to it, but it should have the primary goal of searching sites and introducing people to the AboutUs CONCEPT.
- I suggest modelling the home page against Google's "personalized" page if possible: this page has Search front and center at the top, but has a flexible 3 column design below.
