The information in the Earth & Sky web site, and in our daily radio series, is developed from interviews with scientists. These individuals observe the world, create hypotheses, make and test predictions. Their findings are checked before publication by other experts, in a process known as "peer review."
Science is not perfect. It's a process, not a body of facts. History tells us that some of today's scientific "truths" will inevitably turn out to be wrong, or only partially true. Still, science leads to profound insights about the natural world that are as true as anything can be here at the beginning of the 21st century.
At Earth & Sky, we speak with several scientists each day…dozens each month…and hundreds each year. More than 500 scientists work with us as advisors, which means we contact them regularly for story ideas and script review. Our in-house data base contains the names of thousands of scientists, contacted over our 15-year history. Earth & Sky tries to build a bridge between scientists and you.
