- Espeed came about because my wife´s job moved and she suddenly needed to get a ferry and a bus, or train, to work. Her commute went from 30 minutes each way to an hour and 15 minutes each way. Two and half hours commuting! She thought about cycling but the traffic in Auckland´s terrible and it was mainly uphill all the way to work and she didn´t want to arrive all sweaty or have to carry spare clothes to work every day. Then she spotted a guy on the ferry with a stand-on electric scooter. That´s the ticket, she thought. Trouble was that scooter he had, had cost him about $2,500 - a little out of our price bracket. So after some worldwide research (where we rejected a few cheaper models in the USA because of some terrible comments about them) we found the Revo Sprint.
