About Computer Recycling for Education®
Computer Recycling for Education Training Consultants is the brainchild of Al Chaney, MBA. It was formed in 1995 when he recognized a need to recycle computers, in order to reduce electronics waste.
In those early days of computer recycling, reuse, and refurbishing, many organizations in the nonprofit and commercial sectors were not using any Best Practices. As one of only a few experts in the United States in computer recycling, reuse and refurbishing, Al Chaney used his Silicone Valley High-Tech experience to establish his business, Computer Recycling For Education. He published his first book, also named Computer Recycling For Education, the definitive work on how to start and operate computer recycling and refurbishing training programs and businesses.
CRE provides expert consulting and training to a variety of clients, which could include the EPA; state and local governments; waste haulers; nonprofits; universities, colleges and other schools; manufacturers; recyclers; refurbishers; stakeholders; and concerned citizens to help them protect the environment through recycling and reuse of computers and other electronics.
