Description
Located in the "Big Bend" area of northwestern Florida, Econfina River Resort is situated in the middle of a 40 mile stretch of protected coastal habitat. The resort is located one and one half miles up the Econfina River from the Gulf of Mexico.
The area is a fisherman's paradise for "flats" fishing in the Gulf. Sitting amid nearly 168,000 acres of state lands, Econfina River Resort is the only full service launching point in the area.
The Econfina State Preserve - a 45,000 acre wildlife preserve stretching along the coast 3 miles wide to the St. Marks Wildlife Preserve - surrounds the resort. The resort also manages the state park facility with maps and tours available.
