The name
DXM refers to deus ex machina, latin for ‘god from the machine’. Stemming from Roman and Greek theatre, the 'machine' was a crane that lowered a 'god' on stage to relieve an otherwise hopeless situation. Today the phrase generally describes outside intervention to redirect a plot toward a desired outcome.
The motivation
Elegant solutions are simple and relevant. We've run a successful, stable business for years and we own DXM 100%. We do work that we enjoy, with long-term business partners, because we're not chasing a quick buck. DXM is a good solution for an important need - we get a thrill to see it used and we look forward its ongoing enhancement so that it grows with our clients.
The need
Our client organisations throughout Europe and Asia need to make regular updates to their international websites. Plenty of systems offer localisation or multilingual support, but do half a job, which makes them tricky to use. Other CMS's that do have full-feature localisation are complicated systems with price tags that make you sweat.
