Timothy Cowles was first introduced to ventriloquism at the age of 12. A frequent worker at his grandfather’s summer camp for youth, Tim was fascinated by a visiting ventriloquist. Twenty years later, Timothy is owner and operator of The Dummy Works, a company specializing in the production of fun and colorful ventriloquist characters. In addition, he is a frequent speaker, judge, and performer at international ventriloquist and puppetry conferences hosted by One Way Street, Inc., world renowned leaders in puppetry and ventriloquism. In 1999 Tim was a member of One Way Street’s Ventriloquist Dream Team and in 2003 was proud to direct the team himself. Tim served as president for the Fellowship of Christian Magicians Northern California Chapter and was featured in the Mountain Democrat, the oldest newspaper in northern California.
Tim’s wife, Amanda, has also served as teacher, performer, and judge for One Way Street, Inc. She was a member of One Way Street’s 2000 Puppetry Dream Team and served as director to a performing team at the International Festival for Puppetry and Ventriloquism. Amanda’s work has taken her throughout the U.S., as well as parts of Mexico as she continues to teach and entertain children of all ages with her colorful characters.
