Dufresne-Henry's story, like that of so many enduring businesses, is one about people. It begins with Robert J. Dufresne, L.S., P.E., and Walter R. Henry, L.S., P.E. In 1955, the two friends, both young highway engineers, left positions with the Vermont Agency of Transportation to start their own business in the state. The ensuing years brought more people into the company, and non-transportation-based engineering projects such as water supply and wastewater treatment engineering, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, site, solid waste and airport engineering.
Today the firm thrives through the dedicated efforts of diversely talented professionals located in offices throughout New England, New York and Florida. In addition to engineering, Dufresne-Henry specializes in planning, environmental science and landscape architecture. Together, the people of Dufresne-Henry provide a wide range of services throughout the duration of a project - from initial planning, evaluations, and modeling, through the design and construction phases, and into operational start-up.
