- Jim's Great Grandparents emigrated from Norway to Callender, Iowa, in the mid- 1870's where John Sabe was a buggy and carriage maker. In 1907, they moved west to Haley Township in Bowman County, North Dakota. They settled in Section 18 Township 129 Range 99. Jim's Grandfather, Oscar Sabe, began farming and ranching in his teens and Jim's Dad, Odell Sabe, was born in 1931. Odell began his career on the ranch in 1946 and still lives on the ranch.
