Description
Dru studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York. As a photographer with Southern Connecticut Newspapers (The Greenwich Time and The Advocate) she has won regional and national awards. Her experience also includes several years with The Connecticut Law Tribune. Her photographs have been published in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The San Jose Mercury News, and Town and Country magazine. Previous clients are diverse and include hospitals, non-profits (e.g. Habitat for Humanity and the Yale Child Study Center ) and an off-Broadway show.
In 1994 she and a writer received a grant to document the lives of teenage boys growing up in New Haven. The result was a book called "Home Boys", which was excerpted on the op-ed page of The New York Times.
