In 1979, George Dreyfus arrived in America from France. Despite his background in mechanical engineering, he spoke little English but learned quickly. His entrepreneurial spirit compelled him to make the United States his second home. Dreyfus arrived in Austin, Texas where he met his wife and owned several businesses. Eventually, he combined his love of French history and furniture restoration to create Dreyfus Antiques.
