Description

A Brief History

Dragon's Anime has actually been around on the internet, in one form or another, for nearly eight years, since June of 1998. It began life as the Dragon's Masaki Shrine of Tenchi Muyo , a fan site made and maintained by JC DuBois, at the time using the nick Platinum Dragon. Over the course of four years, three redesigns, and of course two OVA, two TV, and three movies, it grew to be one of the biggest sites devoted to TM. Despite its long standing success, though, it was eventually taken down in late 2002, in part because the TM fan base was no longer out there, and in part because JC no longer had time to properly maintain it.

Although the main site was no longer around, Dragon's Anime did continue to host several other sites related to anime fandom in general, the most notable of these being the online gallery of sci-fi and fantasy artist Alan Gutierrez. To this day, we're proud to have the privilege of hosting Mr. Gutierrez and his site, Alan's Studio. In addition to Alan's Studio, Dragon's Anime was also host to the fanfiction reviews site of one David Nolen, or K`thardin, as he is better known. Having first met thanks to the TMFFA and the first version of David's review site, the two forged a fast friendship, despite disagreeing on just about everything.

In late 2005, as the Dragon's Anime domain name was coming up for expiration, JC mentioned to David that he was considering letting the domain go when its time was up, as the site really wasn't being used for anything any more, and he owned several other domains that were. David suggested, rather than allowing Dragon's Anime to expire that the site be rebuilt into something else - after all, having had the same domain name for nearly eight years is rare for a personal site. After some discussion, they decided to try setting up their own anime and gaming portal, just for fun, and the current incarnation of Dragon's Anime was born.
