I have been a Massachusetts licensed psychologist since 1989, and I had five years of prior supervised experience. (Feel free to verify my psychology license
with the licensing board.) I earned a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology from Boston University, as well as a Master's degree (M.A.) in psychology from New York University. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, Employee Assistance Professionals Association, Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and Needham Volunteer Medical Corps. As a psychologist, I am trained in assessment and psychotherapy--understanding and helping people. When appropriate, I can make a referral to another professional for a medication evaluation.
My offices are located in Boston and Needham, Massachusetts. I have worked in many settings, including employee assistance programs, outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and emergency services. I have taught psychology courses at Tufts University, UMass/Boston, Boston College, and other institutions. My articles on depression, humor, and other topics have appeared in New England Psychologist, Teaching of Psychology, Psychological Reports, and other publications. I have also designed worksite health promotion programs, provided crisis intervention and management consultation to numerous businesses, and delivered presentations to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Massachusetts Bay, Massachusetts Dept. of Mental Health, and other organizations.
