About Tangle Tree Ranch and the First Døle Horse in America

In Norway, as here, it is popular to have a horse drawn carriage for the wedding couple. As we did at our wedding. This is a picture of us with Silver.

The first Døle horse, named Vollaug Silver, was brought to this country because of a marriage between a Norwegian girl, Marte, and a boy, Bob, from a farm near Devils Lake, ND. Silver arrived in the fall of 2001. He flew from Gotenberg Sweden to New York where he spent three days in quarantine. Next he was trailered to the Wisconsin Equine Clinic by Squire Transport where he was picked up by Marte for the rest of his trip to the ranch in North Dakota.

On April 12, 2003, Silver was joined by three more Døle Horses. Skogstad Svarten, Gik Terna, and Fly Tuva were brought to the ranch from Norway. They had to stay at the Wisconsin Equine Clinic for a month in quarantine because they are breeding stock.
