Dog Play is dedicated to providing dog related information as a public service. Dog Play has been on-line since 1996. It is an on-line service and goods provider owned, operated by Diane Blackman. The goal of Dog Play is help dogs keep their homes by improving the quality of the relationship between dog and human.

Dog Play is primarily a web site providing information on dog related activities, and dog information resources. The philosophy of Dog Play is that the health and welfare of dogs can be improved by encouraging people to "play with their dogs." When people are motivated (by fun) to get a specific behavior from their dog (a game or a sport goal), they learn to communicate better with their dog. It is better behavior through fun and games. "People who play with their dogs, stay with their dogs" I once told a person who was heavily into rescuing shelter dogs "No one can do everything. You get them out, I try to keep them from getting there in the first place."
Everything that is fit for fun
The Dog Play web site has appeared in major books and magazines. Individual articles have been published in books, newsletters and publicly distributed information pamphlets. As of May 2005 the site receives about 4000 visitors a day. It provides articles, information, advice and opinion on our relationships with our dogs. Dog-Play and Dog Play are the service marks that identify the source and character of the information published here and elsewhere. The purpose of this web site and the information, articles, and items produced in association with Dog-Play is to improve the welfare of the domestic canine by encouraging a higher level of interaction between people and the dogs they've chosen.
