DJM Jewellery - The Waterline
Description
Whilst I was training at the Cass (now part of London Guildhall University), I became particularly interested in working with enamel and have continued to develop this as an area of special interest. I love the variety of colours and texture I can achieve in this medium and like to think of it as letting me create ‘wearable works of art’. That probably sums up my approach to jewellery generally, in fact, whether working with stones, metals, enamels or any combination of materials.
I undertake commissions from individual clients and quality retail jewellers but The Waterline is my first independent collection. It was inspired by my love of the sea and its beaches and boats, both in this country and in warmer climes like the Caribbean or the Far East.
I’m lucky enough to live in Cowes and have a workshop here looking out over the sea – a view I particularly appreciate after many years in London working as a lawyer in the music business before deciding to retrain and unleash my suppressed creativity on the world! Fortunately my husband is an avid sailor so was as happy as I was to leave the city for the Isle of Wight.
