Dewey James' unique medium, "oil on sepia-toned image," involves a delicate and elaborate process that combines black and white photography and oil painting. The result is a special and very distinctive interplay of light and color.
Response to Dewey's art has been exceptionally enthusiastic. In addition to the Fine Art Galleries presenting her work, her images have been featured at benefit events and by-invitation-only art auctions, where they have elicited a strong, popular, critical and sales response. A number of design firms have also been offering select pieces for a number of major corporate collections, and she has been commissioned for a variety of special assignments.
