Over time, DivaTribe has grown to include free online journals, its own boutique featuring handmade items, over 100 book and product reviews, how-to's for adults and children, guest interviews, a monthly newsletter, a directory full of interesting links, and hundreds of registered members.
DivaTribe is owned and managed by Jennifer Thompson, one of the original founders. Jennifer is a stay at home mom and a parttime math tutor who also enjoys sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and reading. She lives in California with her husband and daughter and will be returning to teaching math parttime in the fall of 2006.
Jennifer was once asked what she thought a diva was. Here is her reply:
"A diva is someone who dares to be herself, accepts herself for whom she is right now and strives to be even better. She doesn’t change who she is to fit someone else’s idea of what she ought to be. She’s willing to work on improving herself to reach her own ideal sense of who she wants to be. She’s in touch with her intuition, and when she’s afraid to do something she knows she needs to do, she feels the fear and does it anyway. She’s strong; she’s courageous; she’s creative."
