Since 1999, Distinctive Concrete has been installing decorative concrete systems throughout the New England area. President and owner Bill Guthro has been involved in the concrete construction business for 20 years beginning as a laborer after high school and eventually becoming Concrete Foreman on some of the world’s largest concrete construction projects including Boston’s mega projects - the Ted Williams Tunnel, Deer Island Waste Treatment Plant and Boston’s “Big Dig”.
“By the end of 1998, I was getting really bored with my job. I was ready for something different. I came across some decorative concrete advertisements in a trade journal. I checked out some websites on the internet and was just blown away by all these artistic creations – all done in concrete. In January of 1999 I quit my job as Concrete Foreman and then spent the next 6 months traveling across the country attending decorative concrete manufacturer seminars”
Since then, Distinctive Concrete has become the leading installer and supplier of decorative concrete systems. In addition to many residential customers, commercial clients include Marriott Hotels, Holiday Inn Hotels, Boston Design Center, Boston Police Department , The State Room (formerly known as the Bay Tower Room) and several other restaurants and retail merchants.
