About Us

Like most mothers today the thought of cloth diapering used to completely turn me off. In fact I did not seriously consider cloth diapering until my first child was almost two years old. At that time I had been frequenting the frugal boards and Parents Place and kept reading about the other moms who were saving hundreds of dollars a year by using to cloth. They made it sound easy! Soon after that I visited the cloth diapering boards, got some great diaper care tips and was ready to try some of my own.

I found cloth diapering overwhelming at first. I did not know where to start and what to buy. While the women at the boards gave me great advice I had a difficult time finding the cloth diaper retailers and their websites. The cloth diapering world is huge and there are so many great products from which to choose. I finally arbitrarily selected a cloth diaper seller and ordered a few diapers and began my cloth diapering experience. I had some trial and errors ... my first choice of diapers were too bulky, the next one I got leaked. I had to search around some more until I found the perfect diaper for my son. Still despite all that, I was hooked from the moment I held that first cloth diaper.

As a professional programmer I had built several websites for my employers and my clients. But I was anxious to develop one of my own. At the same time I wanted to get the word about cloth diapering out there and to provide a comprehensive site to make it easier for other moms to decide to switch to cloth. So I decided to combine my cloth diapering and programming skills and from that formed Diaper Pin. Diaper Pin started as a hobby, a fun little project but before long it grew and started to take a life of its own.
