The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) is responsible for the delivery of health and social services. The department is the largest of state government agencies. We serve all Georgia citizens through regulatory inspection, direct service and financial assistance programs. The 20,000 employees (12,000 state and 8,000 county employees) manage over 100 programs in 1,000 locations and in all 159 counties.
The department's four divisions are Aging Services; Family and Children Services; Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities & Addictive Diseases; and Public Health. The department also includes the Office of Adoptions, the Office of Child Support Enforcement, and the Office of Regulatory Services.
