Despite so called integration of software on corporate systems few offices actual achieved such integration of their data. This was because most software used in offices had been originally conceived as single user software and had networked working imposed on it. The data architecture was generally not suitable for efficient team and departmental working.
This lead to problems and inefficiencies with multiple versions, out of date contact details, lack of management information and continual re-entry of data that has been entered previously for another purpose. Members of work groups generally had to speak to colleagues to find out what was happening on a particular case or job, unless they held the file. The file could only be in one place at a time and sometimes could not be found immediately.
So the original version of DESKspace was conceived and developed in early 1998. DESKspace has been under continual use and development since that date. The first paying client installed their system for 10 users in a private medical practice in February 2000. Since then we have supplied professionals in a wide variety of vertical markets.
