- Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology , magna cum laude, and a master’s degree with thesis in history. She spent thirteen years as a secondary school teacher/social studies department chairman in Arizona before devoting herself full-time to writing. Her screenplays and novels have won numerous awards, including two top ten finalist placements in the Pacific Northwest Writers’ Conference Zola Awards Literary Contest, a semi-finalist award in the William Faulkner Creative Writing Competition, and the Metro Goldwyn Mayer Finalist in the Seattle International Film Festival’s Perfect Pitch Forum. Deborah’s professional affiliations include the Northwest Screenwriters’ Guild ( Compendium member), Romance Writers of America (PRO member) and Pacific Northwest Writers' Association. In addition to writing, she enjoys genealogical research, which has provided the inspiration for several of her plots; the discovery she is a 30th great-granddaughter of Edythe of the Swan Neck and King Harold has sparked the creation of “A Call to Arms.” Deborah resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and Cairn terrier.
