We had a beloved Old English Sheepdog. His name was Chaucer and he had arthritis. He was in great pain and so were we.
A friend told us about the power of healing copper to cure rheumatism. We didn't see how putting a piece of healing copper on Chaucer could hurt him, so we went to the hardware store and bought a long piece of copper. We fashioned a collar from the length of copper strip and we tied it round Chaucer's neck with a piece of string threaded through a hole at each end of the strip. We were thoroughly modern yuppies and we knew this so called cure wouldn't work but we wanted to try anything that would help our precious friend.
About two weeks later Chaucer stopped whining when we lifted him to his feet. At first I thought he was still asleep when I hoisted him up, but his eyes were open and he stood alone and shaky. Well, I thought this was some sort of coincidence. Then he turned up his nose at the oatmeal I had prepared. Since he got sick, he wouldn't eat anything chewy, so I'd been giving him liquidized food. He barked very crossly at me.
