MARYOTT'S DAYLILY GARDENS...quality plants since 1978
Description
We now have five acres devoted entirely to daylilies. We have now been breeding daylilies exclusively since 1998. Now with the availability of our large greenhouse, we can make about 4000 pollinations and line out about 12 to 15 thousand seedlings each year to evaluate. We introduced our first varieties into commerce in 2004 and now have cultivars being evaluated for introduction each year. It normally takes us three years to properly evaluate a seedling before introducing it. It must perform both in the greenhouse and in the field and must be an advancement over similar varieties. We also acquire over many new varieties each year in an attempt to maintain a current listing of the best cultivars available anywhere.
The climate here in Corralitos is like no other we're aware of. We have mild temperatures, little precipitation, and lots of midday sun year around. We have fine sandy loam and unlimited water. Our daylilies bloom continuously from May until November.
We're sorry we can't be open to the public, but our location doesn't lend itself to walk in trade. We will continue to provide quality stock in a timely manner just as we have for the last 25 years.
